My Courses Features

7/31/2010 11:41:58 PM ET
Access to some features described below may not be part of your subscription. If you cannot view certain features on the site, ask your administrator about feature availability.
View/continue your current courses (on My Courses)
In My Current Courses you'll see a list of your courses that are in progress; online instructor-led, self-study and downloaded self-study. (See a sample layout of My Current Courses.) Only the online instructor-led courses you've registered for that are in progress are displayed. Self-study courses are displayed once you access the course. If a course is restricted, see About Restricted Courses.

My Current Courses is where you:

Notes

  • Self-study courses which are in progress display in either My Courses or My Past Courses depending on whether the course has been completed, or whether topics recommended due to assessment have been completed. In addition, courses will pass from My Current Courses to My Past Courses if they have not been accessed for two weeks or if you have completed all topics or all recommended topics. After two weeks of being in My Past Courses, the class is moved to My Transcript and is considered a completed class.
  • Courses that you've downloaded content for will display a download folder icon next to them.
  • Some courses in My Current Courses are recommended; some are required. Those courses that your Training Administrator has designated as required are courses you are expected to complete. Recommended courses are optional courses, but you are encouraged to access them. These courses will remain in My Future and My Current Courses until they're accessed. Once a course has been completed, the title is placed in My Past Courses.

   Access vLab exercises
The vLabs exercises link gives you access to our vLabs training site. This link is offered only to students who subscribe to specific Networking and Internetworking libraries, or have already purchased vLabs from our Store. Access to this feature may not be part of your subscription. If you cannot see this feature on the site, ask your administrator about feature availability.

vLab technology is real, hands-on experience with real networking equipment. It is not a simulation or a computer-based training program. Each lab provides an experience similar to working on a production network at a company.

If you are enrolled in the Internetworking Department's Cisco library, your subscription includes 16 vLab sessions. As these sessions were specifically chosen to support the Online Instructor-Led CCNA-ICND course, we recommend that they be used with this course.

If you are currently enrolled in the Computer Professional, Hardware and Networking Operating System or MCSE library, you have the ability to enhance your subscription with 14 pre-selected labs to provide a broad-based exposure on the subject matter and to lay the foundation of fundamental knowledge needed for Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. These labs are listed in the Store as the "Starter Pack."

Students who subscribe to these libraries may purchase additional sessions to complement the sessions in the Starter Pack. You can access your vLab sessions by clicking the vLabs Exercises link.
