My Bookshelf Features

Using My Bookshelf you can create your own personal library of books for quick and easy access of information. You can store frequently used books for quick access on a separate page, view general information about the book, and add, edit, and delete bookmarks within those books while viewing individual book content pages.

Access to some features described below may not be part of your subscription. If you cannot view certain features on the site, ask your administrator about feature availability.


   Search for Books (in My Bookshelf)
   You can search for books using a word or phrase with the search function. Locate the books you already know of by searching on the title, author's name, publisher name, or the ISBN. You can also go to Search Tips for tips on searching and the results different searches will produce.

To search for reference books:

  1. Type the word or phrase that you want to search for in the text box below Search Books.
  2. Select the radio button next to Titles to search for the title, author's name, publisher name, or the ISBN, or the radio button next to Titles and Content to include the entire book contents in the search.
  3. Click the Search button to display the search results.

   Add a Book to My Bookshelf
   You can add a book to My Bookshelf while the table of contents page or any other book content page is displayed.

To add a book to My Bookshelf:

  1. Search for the book to add to My Bookshelf using the Search feature. The search results page will display.
  2. Click the Add to Bookshelf button to add the book. Note: If the book has already been added to the bookshelf, the Remove Book button will display.

Note

  • Adding a bookmark to a book automatically adds the book to My Bookshelf if it's not already there.

   Remove a Book from My Bookshelf
   You can remove existing books from My Bookshelf at any time.

To remove a book from My Bookshelf:

  1. Locate the book in My Bookshelf using the Search feature.
  2. Click the Remove Book button next to the book that you want to remove.
Notes
  • CompuMaster Online Training reserves the right to add and remove books from the Online Reference books without prior notice to the student. If you have a book in your bookshelf that is no longer available through CompuMaster Online Training , once you remove the book from your bookshelf you will no longer have access to that book.
  • Books that have been removed from the Online Reference books list will not appear in Category browses or in the Search results, even though they may still appear in your bookshelf.

   Display Book Content Pages (in My Bookshelf)
   Whenever a book title is presented in My Bookshelf you can click the title to display the table of contents page. This is the entry point into the content of the book.

To display book content pages:

  1. Click the title of the book to display the Table of Contents page.
  2. Click the respective link to go to chapters or main sections of the book.

   Add a Bookmark
   Adding a bookmark to a book automatically adds the book to My Bookshelf. Bookmarking the page enables you quick and easy access to the content as needed.

To add a bookmark:

  1. Click the Add Bookmark button while viewing the page that you want to bookmark.
  2. Type a bookmark note (this is optional) in the text box for Bookmark Note.
  3. Click the Create Bookmark button. Once added, the bookmark becomes a link on the Table of Contents page and on My Bookshelf.

Notes

  • The My Bookshelf page does not allow you to add, edit, or delete a bookmark. These features are only available while viewing the individual book content pages.
  • Once bookmarks have been added, you can instantly access bookmarked chapters and sections by clicking the respective bookmark listed.

   Edit a Bookmark
   Once a bookmark has been added, the Add a Bookmark button is changed to Edit Bookmark.

To edit a bookmark:

  1. Click the Edit Bookmark button next to the respective bookmark.
  2. If you typed a bookmark note, edit the bookmark note on the page.
  3. Click the Edit Bookmark button to accept the changes.

Note

  • To edit a bookmark, the book must be on My Bookshelf. If you have removed the book, simply add it to My Bookshelf again. If you need additional help, please go to Additional Reference Information.


   Remove a Bookmark
   You may find that you want to remove a bookmark entirely. Bookmarks are removed while viewing individual book content pages.

To remove a bookmark:

  • Click the Remove Bookmark button to remove the respective bookmark.
