- There is no definite rule for how much time you'll have
to put in to keep up with a class. However, in order to earn
CEUs and be eligible for
course completion certificates, you must login to your classroom at least once per week for the entire
duration of the session.
- An intense class, such as C++ or Java, may require an
hour or more per day in addition to the time spent reading
messages. Other, less intense classes may require considerably
less time per week.
- If you're concerned that you may not have enough time to devote
to a particular class, first check the course description. You
might also consider auditing the class first to familiarize
yourself with the material, then taking the next session as a
full student.

A last-minute checklist
for first-time students
If you're a first-time CompuMaster Online Training student, you can use the following
checklist to make sure you're ready for class:
-
Have you received confirmation of your course registration?
- Your registration should have been confirmed when you first registered.
- You should receive a reminder note by email about a week
before your course is scheduled to begin.
- The
class you registered for should appear on the "My Courses" page. If
you registered for a class but do not see the class listed on
the "My Courses" page, repeat the registration procedure. The system
will either register you for the class or tell you that you are
already registered. If you repeat the registration process and the
class still doesn't show up on the "My Courses" page, please Contact Us
and request help.
-
Do you have the materials required for the class?
If a book is required for the class, you'll
need to have it on hand. In a programming class, you may need
to have a particular compiler or programming environment installed,
for example, or in an HTML class, you may need to have access to a Web server.
See How to Find Course
Requirements. If you still have questions after you've viewed
the requirements for a course, you can post a note in the classroom
during the first week of class.
-
Do you have a CompuMaster Online Training-capable browser, and is it working correctly?
See CompuMaster Online TrainingSupported Browsers for more information.
-
Do you know the course start and end dates?
You'll receive a reminder note by email about a week before the class
begins. That reminder will include the starting date for the class.
You can also find the starting date by checking the course information listed in
My Courses or in the Course Catalog.
If you have questions before the start of class, let us know through
Contact Us.

When and where to show up for class
To get to your classroom:
- Click on My Courses in the top navigation bar.
- From the list of courses you've registered for in My Current
Courses, click on Enter Classroom to enter the classroom.
Other points on taking classes:
- You don't need to be in the classroom at any particular
time of day, so don't worry about being late for class.
- On the first day of class, the instructor and the sysops will
begin posting messages to welcome students to the class, to explain
a bit about how the class operates, and to begin the first lesson.
If you show up early on the first day and find no messages from
the instructor, don't worry - just check back later in the day.
You won't miss anything.
